The official Falun 2015 World Ski Championships song, Love Last Forever, has been released. Mando Diao, which hails from Dalarna, wrote the song.
– We wanted to create a song that conveys a feeling of love, say Gustaf Norén and Björn Dixgård from Mando Diao.
The world’s best athletes in Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined will be fighting for World Championships medals in Falun from 18th February until 1st March. They will perform to the tune of the official World Championships song ”Love last forever”, by Mando Diao.
– When we wrote the song we had a vision that it would sound like the music was carved off of an iceberg. Sport unites people, but it also unites people with nature, say Gustaf Norén and Björn Dixgård from Mando Diao.
When Gustaf and Björn were asked to write the World Championships song they knew immediately that they wanted to write an emotional song about eternal love. For them, the connection between love and sport is self-evident.
– Our goal was to write a song that transmits an emotion. It’s about love for winter and for nature but also about love among people. Sport unites people. All types of people. That’s our message, explain Gustaf and Björn.
Sven von Holst, CEO of Falun 2015, is very satisfied with the World Championships song and the message it conveys.
– We are organising the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun because we love skiing. The World Championships present an opportunity to turn the world’s spotlight on Nordic ski sports and to show them off. We also believe that the excitement of competition unites people. The message that Mando Diao conveys through their song fits well with our and the athletes’ love for the sport and with the Swedish passion for skiing, says Sven.
